Guatemalan Billfishing Adventures has under it's management both the 'Decisive' and the 'Makara', which it books for it's clients. The 'Makara' is a brand new 36ft Bertram Open sportsfishermen, having arrived in Guatemala from Miami in October of 2007. 'Makara' makes the perfect compliment for groups requiring a second boat, or those looking to fish and stay with us on dates where there is no longer availablity on the 'Decisive'. The boat is run by Nicholas 'Nico' Melendez the longest standing and most experienced of Guatemalan crew members, having released close to 20,000 billfish as both a mate and captain, working for Fins 'n Feathers and then other top boats before moving to this new boat. 'Makara' is powered by 575hp Volvo engines with a cruise speed of well over 27knots making it one of the fastest in Guatemala, giving you more time on the fishing grounds.
The boat is equipped with new Alutecnos tackle and everything aboard, from crew, to tackle, to food and drinks, is to the same high standard as one would expect when booking a boat through Guatemalan BIllfishing Adventures. 'Makara' will fast become a very sought after ride, and will be making waves on the Guatemalan billfishing scene!!
